Soulflame Candle Set
Wondrous item, rare
These candles originate from the Abyss. A meticulous process goes into crafting the components for these candle sets. The few details that have escaped the Abyss are that by some process, damned souls wandering the plane are harvested into a tangible resource known as soul-shards, that each contain slight traces of magic. These soul-shards can be traded as currency, consumed for sustenance, or re-purposed for arcane practices.
The infernal writings inscribed round the candles exist to denote which of the candles belong to a set.
It takes an Action to light a candle, and the candles burn bright for 1d4 rounds. For each candle that burns whomever ignited the wick gains a +2 bonus to AC, +2 to saving throws, +2 to damage dealt, and gains an additional Action on each of its turns.
For each candle that burns out, whomever ignited the wick immediately gains 1d4 levels of exhaustion, and cannot move or take actions for 1d4 rounds.
When lighting the wick of a candle there is a 1/4 chance that the soul-shard infused into the candle spills into the essence of the 2nd candle, this causes the second candle to ignite when the first is lit. There is a 1/16 chance that one of the soul-shards harvested was suffused with negative energy, this causes all candles in the set to alight in unison.
